This year Thanksgiving had a much happier and more thankful tone because we were all able to celebrate together - healthfully, and away from the hospital! Last year Katy was in the ICU and we ate Thanksgiving dinner forlornly and sullenly while Katy remained in the hospital unconscious. This year was much different.

It was nice to spend some down time with the family and enjoy each other's company (shopping or not, Mom & Dad). I arrived Tuesday night, and Wednesday was Mom's birthday. We drove to Alexandria and ate at a place that had Tapas. We had lots of Tapas. I personally think the calamari was the best.

On Thanksgiving we enjoyed dinner at the Ritz Carlton. Inside the ball room, they had prepared a buffet-feast, including ice sculptures and salty caviar. Luke tried the caviar but didn't enjoy it.

We also had a post Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving dinner. Mom bought a lot of good food from Whole Foods and prepared some squash casserole (my favorite) and fresh yams.
