2005 Is Here!
: :
It's 2005 already! And just to think, 1985 seems like only yesterday.
Christmas break was good. I spent two weeks with my sister and parents and VA. It was nice to actually spend the holiday with my family this year (even though the Yamiolkoski Christmas of 2003 will always be fondly remembered).
Here are some cool gifts I received:
Falconnable Overcoat from Mom & Dad
Lord of The Rings DVD - Extended Edition from Mom & Dad
Seinfeld DVDs from Luke
Banana Republic Boxer Briefs from Mom & Dad
A Neck Massager from Katy
Briggs & Riley Carry-on Luggage from Mom & Dad
Bourne Supremacy DVD from Natasha
A great picture frame with family pictures from Juliana
Starbucks Gift Card from Mom & Dad
A toothbrush cover from Dad (Santa)
and so much more...
More than the gifts, though, was the quality time spent with family. We ate out a lot, watched movies, and I slept in just about everyday. We also played a game of turbo Cranium. Luke & Dad played against Natasha, Katy and me. It turned out that Luke & Dad are the masters at charade-puppetry. Who would have guessed.
Hopefully I will have some pictures to post from my trip shortly.
I arrived back in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, and am now gearing up for what will be an extremely active semester. Recruiting season is upon us, and I have been scurrying to send cover letters and resumes for summer internship positions. So far I have submitted resumes to Kraft, PepsiCo, Boston Consulting Group, Siebel Systems, eBay, Amazon, and Dupont. I have several more to go. The only closed list offer I've received so far, is from BCG. The BCG interview consists of two back-to-back 45 minute sessions. The first session is a fit interview and the second is a case interview.
In addition to recruiting season, Follies, the annual production put on by business school students is scheduled for February 11th and 12th. I spent a lot of time writing scripts for the show during the first semester and I also auditioned for an acting or singing spot in the show. If I land a part, I might have to forget about school and go into show business.
After the first quarter ends, I'll be headed to the Bahamas for Spring Break 2005! Hopefully I will have secured an internship by then and I will be able to relax on the beach. If not, maybe I'll just stay there.
Our IMAP (International Multi-Disciplinary Action Project) begins when we get back from Spring Break. I just learned that our team's proposal to work with an Israeli Incubator in Prague, Czech Republic, was accepted - so we will be working with the company to write a business plan during Winter B.
Oh yeah, I am also going luging the weekend after next.
2005 should be a good year.

Cubicle Death is a reminder to think 'outside the cubicle'. It is a compendium of my life as a University of Michigan MBA student and beyond. Enjoy!
