Internship - Tough Decisions
: :
So far, I've had a fair amount of success with my internship interviews. I was invited to 2nd round interviews with Siebel (which I have since declined) and Microsoft (they didn't move very fast to get me to Redmond, so I’ve since let that opportunity slide).
I also have two offers on the table and I am trying to make a difficult decision about which one to accept. Both are very interesting options, and my decision deadline is next Monday.
Walmart.com (based in SF) has extended an offer to work in the strategic alliances and services integration arm of the online unit. Basically, it's a marketing/strategy role and I would be working on developing supplier relationships and integration strategy between the online unit and brick and mortar stores.
The second opportunity is with StorageTek Europe. This is a very unique opportunity since most international roles aren't available in an internship capacity. StorageTek is rolling out their ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) services across Europe, working with Accenture in a partnership arrangement. My role would be to work with the ILM team to facilitate the roll out across Europe. This is a new initiative and as a result, the internship seems like it would be fairly unstructured. The upside is that I would gain exposure to international business as I would be traveling all over Europe (France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, etc.).
I have my work cut out for me. Monday comes quick.

Cubicle Death is a reminder to think 'outside the cubicle'. It is a compendium of my life as a University of Michigan MBA student and beyond. Enjoy!
