Vero Beach 2005 - Summer Vacation
: :
I arrived at Miami Int'l Airport on Saturday, exhausted from my week long m-trek to the Dominican Republic. I loaded my bags into the rental car, hopped on the highway, and hit cruise control for the 3 hour drive north to Vero Beach. At that moment, it occurred to me that for a year straight, I had essentially been 'doing' non-stop. Sure I know, life is busy - but this was different. One year earlier, I had embarked on a new journey; leaving my hometown of 20 years, my business, and my friends behind - to pursue my MBA degree at the University of Michigan. I feel like the last year has been like 10 years of life experience condensed into 12 months.

Rolling the window down and feeling the warm embrace of the Floridian humidity reaffirmed that it was now time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the company of family... at least for the next week or so.

Here are the highlights:

Ocean Blue

View from the balcony of the Carlton.

In The Pool

This is one of Katy's favorite things to do in Florida.

Blowin's Bubbles

Even better!

Pretty Girls

Katy and Mom looking good as always.

Seat Turtle Surprise

When Luke, Juli, and Mom decided to take Katy out to the beach to catch a nesting sea turtle in action, they also ended up getting eaten alive by what we assumed to be the ever elusive and always annoying sand flea!

Playing Hooky

Luke convinced Katy to go fishing in Sebastian with promises of hooking the big one.

The 'Big One'

Luke delivering on his promise and Katy looking fairly disgusted!

Hitting The Links

This was the first time Mom and Dad actually played a full round of golf at Quail Valley (or anywhere for that matter). Who do you think has the best form?

The River Club

The whole family posing in front of the Yachts at the Quail Valley River Club after dinner.

Beatiful People

A picture of me and Katy out to eat at one of our favorite spots, The Ocean Grill.

Baila Salsa!

Katy and I on the dance floor learning to Salsa!
